The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) Junior High School (JHS) has held a joint graduation and retirement ceremony to celebrate the achievements of its graduating students and honour staff members for their dedicated years of service.
The event was held under the theme, "Success Begins Here: From Achievement to Greater Possibilities."

Mrs. Theresa Anyimadu, Deputy Head of KNUST JHS, highlighted the outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements of students who successfully completed the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
She noted that Ama Asomea Kwarteng emerged as the overall best student in the 2025 BECE in the Oforikrom Municipality, while the school was adjudged the best in Practical Agriculture during the municipality's Farmers' Day celebration.
"These accomplishments prove that our students possess great potential beyond the classroom," she said.
Mrs. Anyimadu encouraged the graduates to pursue excellence and uphold the values of the school.
"Success begins here. We should never underestimate humble beginnings, for there are greater possibilities ahead," she added.

The Oforikrom Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Dorothy Opare-Baidu, described the ceremony as a significant occasion marking two important milestones in the life of the school: the successful completion of junior high school education by the graduating students and the retirement of staff members whose dedication has contributed immensely to the institution's growth.
She noted that success is not the end of a journey but the beginning of greater opportunities and possibilities.
"Every achievement, no matter how great, is not the end of a journey but rather the beginning of new opportunities, fresh challenges, and greater possibilities," she said.
Mrs. Opare-Baidu commended the graduates for their hard work, discipline, perseverance and determination throughout their academic journey.
"Your presence here is a testament to your hard work, discipline, perseverance, and determination. You have embraced learning opportunities and demonstrated the resilience needed to succeed," she stated.
She further emphasised that success is built on vision, hard work, discipline, resilience and a commitment to continuous growth, urging the graduates to embrace future opportunities with confidence and continue striving for excellence.
Addressing the retiring staff, she said:
"Throughout your careers, you have invested your time, knowledge, wisdom, and experience in educating and mentoring generations of students. The legacy you leave behind will continue to inspire many for years to come."

The Headmaster of Prempeh College, Very Rev. Louis Asare, underscored the theme of the event, describing junior high school education as a strong foundation for future success.
"Your success at KNUST Basic School is only the beginning. As you move to Senior High School, adopt a new mindset built on truth, responsibility, and resilience," he advised.
He further encouraged the graduands to strive for excellence, contribute positively to their communities and pursue ambitious goals, expressing confidence in their future success.
"We believe you will go on to make meaningful contributions to society and distinguish yourselves in your chosen fields," he added.
As part of the ceremony, graduands and retiring staff were honoured with various awards in recognition of their contributions to the growth and excellence of the school. The awards covered categories such as Best in Subject, Academic Excellence, Overall Academic Performance, Outstanding Academic Performance, Sports Awards and the Selfless Service Award.
Nyantakyi Kwasi Agyarko was adjudged the Overall Best Student of KNUST Junior High School after winning five awards, including Best in English Language, Mathematics and Social Studies.
In recognition of his exceptional academic performance, Very Rev. Louis Asare extended an admission offer to him to continue his education at Prempeh College.
In a further show of support for the school, the 2006 Year Group of KNUST JHS commissioned a renovated and fully furnished guest room. The group also presented awards to outstanding students and donated tablets to the school's quiz team to support academic excellence and digital learning.
